LARES TREK |
4 days / 3 nights

Day 1: Cuzco
– Lares – Huacawasi
Pick up at your hotel at 06:00 am. We leave Cuzco with Lares as the final destination, we arrive around 12:00pm. In this town we visit the hot springs of Lares and then we have a delicious lunch. After lunch we start the trek while enjoying the beautiful scenery. We arrive to Huacawasi where we set up the camp and have dinner.
Day 2: Huacawasi
– Chalhuayoccocha
Early in the morning, after breakfast, we start our journey. We will pass the Huacahuasikasa pass at 4300 meters and then we continue the trek until we reach the Chalhuayoccocha lagoon where we camp and have dinner.
Day 3: Chalhuayoccocha
– Yanahuara – Ollantaytambo
After breakfast we start the trek. We walk among beautiful landscapes and small picturesque villages until we reach the town Yanahuara from where we will continue to Ollantaytambo by car. From there we take the train to Aguas Calientes.
Day 4: Machu
Picchu
It is time for the highlight of the tour, the forgotten city of the Incas and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World – Machu Picchu. You wake up early in the morning and take the bus up to Machu Picchu to be able to enjoy the sunrise. Then it is time for your 2 hour tour. After the tour you will have some free time to explore the ruins and take more photos. A popular alternative is to climb the mountain next to Machu Picchu; Huayna Picchu
(2 hours). It is quite tough but if you reach the top you will have a spectacular view over Machu Picchu and the surroundings. In the afternoon you take the train back to Cuzco. You are picked up and transferred to your hotel.
