After breakfast you are picked up for a guided tour of the colonial and modern Lima which includes the cathedral built in 1654 where the remains of the Spanish conqueror of the Inca Empire, Francisco Pizarro, rest, the Main Square with a bronze fountain from 1650 and some unique wooden colonial balconies around the main square (Plaza de Armas), the San Francisco monastery with the famous catacombs and the modern areas of Miraflores and San Isidro. Lima is also known as “The city of the kings”, and was founded 1535 by Francisco Pizarro and 1991 it was declared a world heritage by UNESCO. After lunch you will visit the Gold Museum, a unique private collection of amazing gold artifacts from the Inca Empire and other ancient Peruvian cultures.

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Cusco, the ancient capital of the Incas. Reception at the airport and transfer to the 5 star Libertador Hotel.
After lunch a private guided tour of Cusco and the four famous Inca ruins which are located in the outskirts of Cusco; the water temple Tambo Machay, the fortress Puca Pucara, the Oracle place Qenqo and the impressive fortress and temple of Sacsayhuamán. Three enormous stones, each one weighs 120 tons, are making three perfect zig-zag walls and the view of Cusco is spectacular. The tour also includes a walking tour in the centre of Cusco with visits to the Cathedral, the Main Square and the Sun Temple of Korikancha.

A full day excursion to Urubamba, the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You will visit the village Pisac that was founded during colonial times and that is located at the foot of some impressive Inca ruins. Visit the Pisac market on the Main Square where the Indians sell their products and handicrafts. Tuesdays, thursdays and sundays are the busiest days, but the market is always open. After lunch, you visit Ollantaytambo, the only Inca village that the Spaniards never conquered, and explore the ruins located above the village. Return to Cusco in the afternoon.

Pick up at your hotel and depart by private vehicle to just outside Chinchero where the mountain bike ride starts. The total distance is 22 miles on back roads and trails. The trail starts with back roads for around an hour, climbing several hills and witnessing scenes of rural Andean life, before arriving at the Inca site of Moray. This is a fabulous amphitheater of terracing that was used as an agricultural experimental site by the Incas, taking advantage of the microclimates produced by the varying altitude to breed new type of crops. After this you leave the back roads and join a two track road that later becomes a walking trail. This route is mostly flat and downhill, but with one steep and fairly technical downhill and a short but steep uphill. There are support vehicles for those who prefer that.
After around 45 minutes you reach the village of Maras where it is time for a picnic lunch. Then it is mostly downhill to the salt pans of Maras. This is an unforgettable site; the people from Maras have diverted a salt-laden spring coming out of the hillside, evaporating the water to collect salt like their ancestors have done for centuries. From this point you have a final technical bike ride, downhill into the Sacred Valley town of Urubamba. As before you have the option to take the support van along a different route if you prefer so. Arrival to Urubamba and transfer to your hotel in Cusco.

This tour combines two different sessions on the Urubamba River with different levels of difficulty. We pick you up around 9am and transfer you to the Adventure Center. There you start the ride for approximate 2 hours as a preparation. After that you eat lunch at Hachicata and later you start the rafting to Calca (about 1 hour). After that you prepare to enter the part of the river called Huaràn, the most difficult part (II, III, and IV class). After that we transfer you back to Cusco, you arrive around 5.30pm.

Transfer to Poroy. Board the luxurious Hiram Bingham train to Aguas Calientes. This is the most exclusive way to go to Machu Picchu and it includes a 4 course lunch onboard the train. Guides will also be available to answer your questions. When arriving to Aguas Calientes you will be assisted with the luggage and to board the bus for the short ride up to Machu Picchu. You will stay in the great hotel Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo.
Now it is time for the highlight of the trip, Machu Picchu! You will get a fully private tour of the ruins where you learn everything there is to know about this magical wonder. Machu Picchu is made of stone blocks fitted with masterful precision and it harmoniously blends into the mountain landscape. There are many theories about the origin of Machu Picchu and your guide will tell you all about this. Dinner at your hotel.

Today you have the opportunity to return to Machu Picchu to enjoy the beautiful sunrise over the ruins. There will be plenty of time for you to discover the site. Many people choose to trek up Huayna Picchu from where you will have a breathtaking view of Machu Picchu and the surrounding mountains.
Return to your hotel for lunch before going back down to Aguas Calientes by bus. Take some time to visit this colorful town before boarding the Hiram Bingham train for the return trip to Cusco. Onboard the train you will enjoy cocktails followed by a four course dinner and a show. Reception and transfer to the Libertador Hotel.

Transfer to the train station for the beautiful trans-altiplano Andean Explorer train to Puno. Lunch onboard the train. There will be plenty of opportunities to see alpacas and vicuñas along the route in the magnificent scenery. A stop at the highest point,  La Raya (altitude: 4319m) will be made. (The Andean Explorer train only leaves on mondays, wednesdays and saturdays, on other days you have to go by bus or flight). Reception at the train station and transfer to your hotel, the 5 star Libertador hotel located on the shore of Lake Titicaca.

You are picked up by the hotel at about 06.40am for a short trip to the Esteves Island, where you will get a brief kayaking lesson, life-vests and equipment. Thereafter you you will make a kayaking tour to the floating islands of Uros, and during the trip you will see a great variation of birds, flora, fauna and stone formations.
The Uros islands are built by reed that grows in the Lake Titicaca and have been there for hundreds of years since the Uros people began to live on reed islands to avoid conflicts with other people living around the lake. You will meet the Uros people, who live their lives on these islands in a similar way that their ancestors have done for many generations. You will talk to the people and see and learn about their living conditions and history. The Uros people use reed boats for transportation, you may make a tour in one of these yourself.
You then continue with a motor-boat to the Taquile Island, a very beautiful island where the people also live their lives like their ancestors have done for centuries, with small scale farming and cattle. They have kept their traditions alive and one of their traditions is handicrafts made with great skills that you can admire and buy during your stay on the island. You will make a guided walk and after lunch, which is included in the tour, it is time to return to Puno, where you will arrive at about 17.00pm. You will be picked up in the harbor and taken to your hotel.

Wake up early to enjoy the beautiful sunrise over Lake Titicaca. Then an excursion to the Sillustani towers. These pre-Inca funeral towers lie right next to the beautiful Umayo Lake and were used by both the Altiplano civilisation and the Incas to honour the dead and in preparation for the after-life. There are over ninety tombs, all built from volcanic rock. They were abandoned when the first Spaniards arrived. You then continue to Juliaca airport for the flight back to Lima. Transfer to your hotel, the 5 star Miraflores Park Hotel, where you can relax in the health spa before dinner.

Enjoy a free morning with plenty of opportunity for shopping. Private transfer to the airport in time for your international flight. Relax in the great ambience of the VIP Sumaq lounge, voted the “best VIP lounge in South America 2008”.
